Newton's teens need positive adult relationships to become a thriving adult themselves. You can be that role model by volunteering at the Chestnut Street Teen Center in the evening. We are seeking:
An Administrative Volunteer to provide support to the Program Director. Tasks could include creating flyers, transferring data from registration forms, updating social media websites, photo copying, laminating, etc. Basic computer skills and ability to work independently are required. Hours are flexible with no long standing commitment.
Volunteer Teen Center Attendants to work with staff members to oversee the center, enforce safety guidelines and interact with the teens in attendance. Regular Teen Center activities include ping pong, fooz ball, billiards, Xbox video games, television/movies, computers, fitness room, music room, and cooking. Requested minimum commitment is one evening a week from 5:00pm-9:00pm for duration of 6 months.
Volunteer Teen Center Chaperones to assist staff with chaperoning teenagers on field trips or at events. Chaperones will be notified in advance of an upcoming field trip or event and can confirm or deny availability/interest. It is preferable that chaperones are present often enough to be familiar with the kids.
Chestnut Street Teen Center of Newton Community Service Center is a drop-in facility for teens 13-18 years old. The Center is open weeknights from 5pm - 9pm. For more information, visit Teen REACH on NCSC's website.
