Family Child Care

Our Family Child Care program partners with independent, community-based, licensed providers to offer full- and part-time child care services in private homes in Newton and Waltham. This unique collaboration combines the intimacy of family child care with the security and support of Newton Community Service Center's Early Education and Child Care services.

NCSC providers and families have access to:

• Music and art activities, play-groups, special events and field trips
• NCSC’s child care facilities including play yard, special toddler playground, large gymnasium and spray pool
• Peer support, education and activities
• An NCSC early childhood expert resource to discuss family or provider challenges or concerns

In addition, providers receive:

• Ongoing training
• Vacation and sick-time coverage
• Visits and support by NCSC early childhood specialist

Fun for Children

Each child enjoys age-appropriate activities tailored to their needs within a nurturing home setting. Small, mixed-age groups offer children the opportunity to grow and learn from each other.

Peace of Mind for Parents

Parents and potential providers meet to access needs and compatibility.

Providers are licensed through the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care and undergo background checks.

Homes are fully insured; providers are supervised and regularly visited by NCSC’s early childhood specialist.
