Could you use a reliable, trusting friend in your life? Someone who would listen to you, without judgment and help you to think through and problem solve issues that come up in your life? Someone to help you set and reach goals in life? Someone to do things with… like going to sporting events, concerts and movies or for a hike or out to dinner…
Mentors support young people in many ways. They can help you think about the world after high school, including higher education and the workforce. They can help with academics and help you to explore your interests. They can also help you to build self confidence and find your place in the world and most importantly, have fun with a new friend.
Am I eligible to participate?
How do I refer a young person to the program?
1. Talk to your child/student/client to see if they’d be interested in having a mentor. If so, and if you are not the parent or guardian, contact the parent/guardian to ensure they would give permission for their child to participate in the program.
2. Call Debbie Tyson-Gottlieb at (617) 244.1404 x225 to make the referral. Be ready to explain why you think the young person would benefit from the program and pass along the parent/guardian contact information.
3. Ask the young person to fill out a Mentee Application and ask the parent to complete the Parent Permission Form and send back to:
